Obituary for George B Mackey

George B Mackey was born on January 27, 1935 in Story City to Glenn R. and Lena (Hermanson) Mackey. He married Delores R. Durby on November 10, 1956. She died December 19, 2015. George was a farmer and had his own heating and plumbing business.
He was a lifetime resident of Story City and a member of Grace United Methodist Church. George like listening to Bluegrass music, playing his guitar, going to county and state fairs all over the country, traveling especially his trips to Branson and car races. He enjoyed farming and built 5 houses in Story City.
George passed away November 3, 2018 at Zearing Health Care Center in Zearing at the age of 83.
George is survived by a brother-in-law, Mark (Mary) Durby of Story City and nieces and a nephew.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; two brothers, Glen and Donald aunts, Teressa Hermanson and Olive Mackey; an uncle, Sam Mackey and a niece, Marcia Mackey.
