Obituary for Sandra "Sandy" Fagan

Sandra “Sandy” Lee (Crosby) Fagan, age 73, of Ames, passed away on December 30, 2018 at Bethany Life in Story City.
Born on October 3, 1945 in Pittsburgh, PA, Sandy was the daughter of William and Lois (Hauser) Crosby. At the age of two, she moved to Rehoboth Beach, DE, where she became very fond of the beach, the boardwalk and the Atlantic Ocean. Sandy worked for Iowa State University in Ames for many years. She was united in marriage to James “Jim” Fagan at their home on October 5, 1996. Sandy worked along side Jim for the past 16 years at their business, Fagan Fireplace Center. Known by many for her free spirit, Sandy’s first love was her family, followed by “her” ocean. She also loved her farm, where she enjoyed gardening, her pets, and the various wild animals that would stop by and visit. She was a strong believer in God, and until her illness, was active in the Catholic Church and community.
Sandy is survived by her mother, Lois Crosby of Lewes, DE; her husband and best friend, Jim L. Fagan of Ames; her daughter, Melyssa Weible of New York, NY; two sons: Thomas “Tom” Weible (Rose Mendez) of Des Moines, IA and William “Ric” (Corey) Weible of Clarksville, MD; a sister, Diane (Bill) Hyland; and her brother, William “Bill” Crosby of St. Augustine, FL.
Sandy will also be greatly missed and fondly remembered by her six wonderful grandchildren: Tom Weible, Eddie Weible, Cole Weible, Gracie Weible, Colton Weible, and Ridgley Weible.
She was preceded in death by her father, William “Bill” Crosby with whom she shared the love of gardening and ice cream of any flavor.
Friends may call at St. Cecilia’s Catholic Church from 5-7:00 P.M. on Thursday, January 3, 2019 where there will be a Vigil Service held at 7:00 P.M.
