Obituary for Myrtle Louise Fauerby

Myrtle Fauerby, 96, of Ames, passed away Monday, May 21, 2018 at Northridge Village. The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Friday, May 25, at Adams Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at Bethesda Lutheran Church Saturday, May 26, at 11:00 A.M. followed by a luncheon. Burial will be in the Cambridge Cemetery.

Myrtle Louise Fauerby was born May 16, 1922 to Severt and Sina (Tollefson) Severson in Chowchilla, California. She graduated from Ames High School in 1940. On January 16, 1945 Myrtle married Andy Fauerby at Bethesda Lutheran Church in Ames. She was a 50 year member of TTT, participated in various committees with Bethesda Lutheran Church where she was a lifelong member. Myrtle also enjoyed volunteering at the local Food Pantry and was a loved member of the M&D’s. Her hobbies included gardening and spending time with her loving family.

Myrtle is survived by her two daughters, Chris (Mike) Smith of Sioux Falls, SD and Jane (Ron) Rider of Clive, IA; one sister, Ruth (Gene) Madson of Cedar Rapids; four grandchildren Stephanie (Shawn) Sprenger, Brian (Victor) Ngo-Smith, Katie (Justin) Scholl, Benjamin (Kelly) Rider; six great grandchildren, Izzy and Sophie Sprenger, Nathan and Lucas Scholl, and Emersen Ann and Oliver Rider.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two brothers, and three sisters.

Memorial contributions may be directed to Timberland Village in Story City, Iowa or Bethesda Lutheran Church in Ames, Iowa.
