Teri was born June 5, 1954 in Burlington, Iowa. She became the adopted daughter of Donna and John Cleasby on Feb. 12, 1957. She grew up in Ames, Iowa and graduated from Ames High School in 1972. She served in the US Army from 1974 to 1977 and was stationed in Belgium at NATO SHAPE headquarters for two years. This was followed by work and going to Iowa State University part time where Teri graduated from in 1987 with co-majors in Journalism and English. Teri had a varied life including traveling much of the U.S. and camping with her parents, two siblings, and her parent’s extended family each summer for many years. She usually had a dog or cat that she cared for with great affection. She was a volunteer at the Ames Animal Shelter and provided foster care for kitten litters in her home until they were old enough for adoption.
Teri enjoyed sharing computer information with her internet tech savvy friends. She was a voracious reader for her whole life and a big fan of PBS TV programs. Teri loved to talk and have some good laughs with friends and family.

In the past fifteen years, she suffered some major health problems and was not able to be employed.

Teri is survived by her parents and siblings, Rick (Kathy) Cleasby of Robins, IA and Lynne (Brian) Miller of Pella, IA, her cat Chloe, plus several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.
